  • A New Destination for Rancho Cucamonga Diners

Located inside Foothill Marketplace, Umi Hotpot Sushi & Seafood Buffet officially opened its doors on August 22, 2026, introducing a large scale dining concept designed for guests who want variety, freshness, and the freedom to create their own experience.

At approximately 11,500 square feet, the restaurant offers an impressive amount of space and an even more impressive selection. More than 200 items are available throughout the restaurant, making Umi one of the most expansive new buffet concepts to arrive in Rancho Cucamonga and the surrounding Inland Empire.

The restaurant blends several popular dining experiences into one destination. Guests can enjoy self serve hot pot, browse an extensive sushi selection, explore a wide variety of seafood, and build their meal from numerous buffet stations featuring different flavors, textures, and styles of cuisine.

The concept is built around choice.

Rather than limiting guests to one specific type of meal, Umi allows diners to move between several different experiences during the same visit. Someone may begin with sushi, move on to seafood, prepare a customized hot pot, and then return to the buffet for additional dishes.

That flexibility is a major part of what makes the restaurant appealing for families, groups, celebrations, and diners with different preferences.

A Hot Pot Experience Built Around Personal Choice

One of the restaurant’s signature attractions is its self serve hot pot experience.

Hot pot has continued to grow in popularity throughout Southern California, largely because it transforms dinner into an interactive experience. Guests are able to select ingredients according to their own preferences and create combinations that suit their individual taste.

At Umi, the hot pot component becomes part of a much larger dining experience.

Instead of visiting a restaurant dedicated exclusively to hot pot, guests can combine the experience with sushi, seafood, and dozens of additional selections from throughout the buffet.

That approach creates a meal that can be completely different from one visit to the next.

Guests who enjoy seafood can focus on seafood. Sushi fans can explore the sushi selections. Hot pot enthusiasts can create their own combinations while still sampling other items available throughout the restaurant.

The result is a format designed to encourage exploration.

More Than 200 Items Under One Roof

With more than 200 selections available, variety is at the center of the Umi experience.

Large buffet concepts have long been popular in Southern California, particularly among families and large groups, but Umi takes the traditional buffet format and combines it with some of the region’s most popular Asian dining trends.

Fresh seafood and sushi serve as major components of the restaurant, while hot pot gives diners another interactive element that separates Umi from a traditional buffet.

The scale of the selection also makes the restaurant particularly suited for groups.

Finding a restaurant that satisfies everyone at the table can often be challenging. One person may want sushi while another wants seafood. Someone else may prefer hot pot, while another guest may simply want the freedom to sample several different dishes.

Umi’s multi concept format addresses that challenge by offering all of those experiences in the same dining room.

A Major New Addition to Foothill Marketplace

The opening also adds another notable dining destination to Foothill Marketplace and Rancho Cucamonga’s growing restaurant scene.

Rancho Cucamonga has steadily developed into one of the Inland Empire’s most active destinations for dining, shopping, and entertainment. Restaurants throughout the city increasingly attract visitors from neighboring communities who are searching for new concepts and larger dining experiences.

Umi Hotpot Sushi & Seafood Buffet enters that market with a concept built around abundance.

Its 11,500 square foot space gives the restaurant room to accommodate its extensive buffet presentation while creating an environment suitable for everything from casual lunches to larger family gatherings and celebrations.

The restaurant’s location also makes it accessible to residents throughout Rancho Cucamonga as well as visitors traveling from surrounding Inland Empire communities.

A Restaurant Designed for Groups and Celebrations

Large all you can eat restaurants often become destinations for birthdays, family dinners, reunions, and group celebrations because they remove many of the limitations associated with ordering from a traditional menu.

At Umi, everyone at the table can create an individual dining experience.

Guests are free to explore different stations, return for additional selections, and discover new dishes throughout the meal.

That freedom can make the restaurant especially attractive for larger groups where diners have different tastes.

Instead of deciding on one cuisine before arriving, guests have access to seafood, sushi, hot pot, and a broad assortment of additional buffet options.

The experience becomes as much about discovering new favorites as it is about enjoying familiar dishes.

Bringing a Larger Buffet Concept to the Inland Empire

Southern California diners have no shortage of restaurant options, but large scale buffet destinations remain distinctive because of the sheer variety they can provide in a single visit.

Umi Hotpot Sushi & Seafood Buffet arrives in Rancho Cucamonga at a time when diners are increasingly interested in restaurants that provide both an experience and a meal.

Hot pot offers an interactive component. Sushi provides visual presentation and variety. Seafood adds another major attraction. The buffet format brings everything together and allows diners to decide exactly how they want to experience the restaurant.

With more than 200 items available, it would be difficult for most guests to experience everything during a single visit.

That may ultimately become part of the restaurant’s appeal.

A first visit can focus on sushi and seafood. Another can revolve around hot pot. Future visits can introduce entirely different combinations.

A New Destination for Rancho Cucamonga Diners

Since officially opening on August 22, Umi Hotpot Sushi & Seafood Buffet has introduced Rancho Cucamonga to one of the area’s newest large format all you can eat experiences.

Its combination of an expansive dining room, more than 200 selections, fresh seafood, premium sushi, and self serve hot pot gives the restaurant a broad identity that extends beyond the traditional buffet.

For Rancho Cucamonga residents, it represents another significant addition to the city’s evolving dining scene.

For visitors throughout the Inland Empire, it offers a new destination where one meal can include several different culinary experiences.

Umi Hotpot Sushi & Seafood Buffet is located at Foothill Marketplace in Rancho Cucamonga and is now open to the public.

With its ambitious scale, extensive selection, and multi concept dining format, Umi is positioning itself as a destination built for diners who believe the best part of going out to eat is having more than one choice.
