LOS ANGELES, CA — In a city filled with coffee shops, Cafe Upper has created a distinctly modern destination where premium drinks, creative desserts, and Korean inspired cafe culture come together in the heart of Los Angeles.

Located at 300 South Hobart Boulevard near Koreatown, Cafe Upper has built its identity around specialty beverages, desserts, and an atmosphere designed for guests who want more than a quick cup of coffee. Its spacious setting, late hours, and free parking have helped make the cafe a convenient gathering place for friends, students, couples, and visitors looking for somewhere to unwind well into the evening.
One of the biggest attractions is Cafe Upper’s lineup of Einspanner style drinks, which pair coffee or tea with a rich layer of cream. The menu includes flavors such as matcha, black sesame, pistachio, taro, and traditional coffee variations. Other popular selections include the Vienna Latte, Dalgona Latte, Strawberry Matcha Latte, and Brown Sugar Oat Milk Shaken Latte.
The cafe also embraces the dessert side of Los Angeles dining culture. Guests can find sweet options including croffles and other shareable treats that complement the drink menu and make the space as much a dessert destination as a coffee shop.
That combination has become increasingly popular across Los Angeles. Modern cafes are no longer simply places to grab coffee on the way to work. They have evolved into social spaces where presentation, atmosphere, creativity, and extended hours can be just as important as what is in the cup.
Cafe Upper fits comfortably into that movement.
Its bright and contemporary presentation gives guests a place where a drink can become part of the experience. Colorful matcha creations, cream topped beverages, and visually striking desserts have also made the cafe naturally suited to a generation of customers who often discover their next food destination through social media.
The extended schedule adds another dimension. Cafe Upper is open late throughout the week and stays open even later on Friday and Saturday nights, providing a cafe alternative for people who want to meet, study, talk, or enjoy dessert without ending the evening early.
In a neighborhood already known for its vibrant dining scene, Cafe Upper offers something slightly different. It combines elements of Korean cafe culture with the energy and diversity of Los Angeles, creating a space that feels equally appropriate for an afternoon drink or a late night dessert run.
For Cafe Upper, the formula is centered on premium drinks, memorable desserts, a comfortable setting, and an experience that encourages guests to stay a little longer.
As Los Angeles continues embracing cafes as social and cultural destinations, Cafe Upper is adding its own flavor to the city, one colorful drink and late night gathering at a time.
Warm Final Sunday of Summer Gives Southern California a Taste of Sunshine Before Cooler Days Arrive
By SoCal Newspaper Staff
LOS ANGELES, CA — Southern California is heading into the final Sunday of summer with warm temperatures and plenty of sunshine before a cooler weather pattern moves into the region at the beginning of the week.
Los Angeles and Orange counties are expected to reach around 83 degrees on Sunday, with overnight temperatures near 63 degrees. Valley and Inland Empire communities are expected to climb into the mid 80s, while beach communities will remain considerably cooler with highs around the mid 70s.
The National Weather Service forecast also shows Downtown Los Angeles reaching approximately 83 degrees Sunday, while Long Beach is expected to reach around 81 degrees. Coastal locations will remain cooler, particularly closer to the ocean.
Farther inland, temperatures will be noticeably warmer. National Weather Service forecasts show inland Southern California valleys generally reaching the upper 70s to mid 80s, while desert communities could approach or exceed 100 degrees in some locations.
Changes begin Monday as increased clouds and cooler temperatures move across much of the region. Los Angeles and Orange counties are expected to remain in the low 80s, while some inland communities will experience a more noticeable drop from weekend temperatures.
Beach areas could see morning clouds and even some drizzle as the marine influence strengthens early in the week. Sunshine is expected to return during the afternoon in many communities.
The cooler conditions will not last long.
Forecasters expect another warming trend to develop around the middle of the week as high pressure strengthens again. Downtown Los Angeles could rise from around 80 degrees Tuesday to the upper 80s by Wednesday and Thursday.
The transition comes as Southern California reaches the final days of the summer season, closing out months that brought periods of significant heat across the region.
For many residents, Sunday will offer one more classic Southern California summer day, with warm inland temperatures, milder weather along the coast, and mostly comfortable conditions throughout Los Angeles and Orange counties.
By Monday and Tuesday, cooler air and additional cloud cover should provide a brief change before warmer sunshine returns later in the week.
