For The Win’s origin story reflects the adaptability of the Southern California restaurant industry during unprecedented times. Launched in March 2020 amid COVID lockdowns, the concept emerged from Papilles, a Michelin Bib Gourmand French bistro in Los Angeles. What began as a necessary pivot has grown into a successful regional burger chain.
The restaurant specializes in classic American smash burgers. Each patty is made from high quality beef, smashed thin on a hot griddle with grilled onions to develop crispy edges and concentrated flavor. Burgers are served on toasted Martin’s potato buns, a detail that contributes to the chain’s consistent texture and taste.

The streamlined menu includes a Hamburger priced at $8.80, a Cheeseburger at $9.90, and a Veggie Burger also at $9.90. The simplicity reflects a focus on execution rather than variety.
Side offerings distinguish the brand further. Brussels sprouts fried in beef tallow are among the most talked about items, offering a rich and crispy alternative to traditional fries. Loaded fries topped with grilled onions and cheese and sweet potato fries round out the menu.
Beverages include traditional milkshakes in chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla, as well as Mexican Coke. Select locations offer beer and wine service.
For The Win has expanded to approximately eight locations throughout Southern California, including Hollywood at 6221 Franklin Avenue, Grand Central Market in Downtown Los Angeles, Glendale, Van Nuys, Alhambra, Whittier, Beverly Grove, Koreatown, Westwood, Brentwood, and Echo Park. Most locations operate daily from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
The dining model is casual and efficient, with many locations using self service kiosks. The atmosphere remains intentionally unpretentious, allowing the food to remain the focal point.
In a competitive regional burger market, For The Win has established itself through consistency, affordability, and a clear culinary identity rooted in simplicity done well.
